3 - Eles então nos teriam engulido vivos, quando a sua ira se acendeu contra nós.
4 - Então as águas teriam transbordado sobre nós, e a corrente teria passado sobre a nossa alma;
5 - Então as águas altivas teriam passado sobre a nossa alma;
6 - Bendito seja o SENHOR, que não nos deu por presa aos seus dentes.
7 - A nossa alma escapou, como um pássaro do laço dos passarinheiros; o laço quebrou-se, e nós escapamos.
8 - O nosso socorro está no nome do SENHOR, que fez o céu e a terra.

1 - If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, now may Israel say;
2 - If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, when men rose up against us;
3 - Then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us:
4 - Then the waters  had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul:
5 - Then the proud waters had gone over our soul.
6 - Blessed be the Lord, who hath not given us an a prey to their teeth.
7 - Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped.
8 - Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth. 

Isaías 43 16-21

17 - O que fez sair o carro e o cavalo, o exército e a força; eles juntamente se deitaram, e nunca se levantarão; estão extintos; como um pavio se apagaram.

18 - Não vos lembreis das coisas passadas, nem considereis as antigas.

19 - Eis que faço uma coisa nova, agora sairá à luz; porventura não a percebeis? Eis que porei um caminho no deserto, e rios no ermo.

20 - Os animais do campo me honrarão, os chacais, e os avestruzes; porque porei águas no deserto, e rios no ermo, para dar de beber ao meu povo, ao meu eleito.

21 - A esse povo que formei para mim; o meu louvor relatarão.

Isaiah 43 16-21

16 - Thus saith the Lord, which maketh a way in the sea, and a path in the mighty waters;

17 - Which bringeth forth the chariot and horse, the army and the power; they shall lie down together, they shall not rise: they are extinct, they are quenched as tow.

18 - Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.

19 - Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall yenot know it ? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

20 - The beast of the field shall honour me, the dragons and the owis: because I give waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people, my chosen.

21 - Thispeople have I formed for myself; they shall shew forth my praise.
